Assistant Professor
University of Pittsburgh
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Information Management, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. My research is on consumer health informatics technology in aging populations with a specific focus on the design and evaluation of patient-and consumer-facing health technologies to empower older adults and their family caregivers, supporting their health and well-being. My interdisciplinary research builds on rigorous training in multiple disciplines of computer science, public health, and biomedical and health informatics.
My doctoral and postdoctoral training in health informatics provided me with expertise in co-design, stakeholder engagement, and qualitative and quantitative analyses and evaluation of health information technology interventions for older adults and family caregivers. Throughout my research, I am committed to engaging individuals and families to inform the design, development, and evaluation of technology tools. My current research focuses on how mobile, social, and smart home technologies can help support the healthy aging of older adults and improve collaboration and shared decision-making among older adults, family caregivers, and clinicians.
