Occupational Therapy Student Researcher

My name is Nicole Heeren and I am a third-year Doctorate of Occupational Therapy student at Drake University, CAPS certified, and LSVT student certified. I have completed level 1 fieldwork rotations at pediatric, neurorehabilitation, and hands outpatient facilities. My level 2A fieldwork site was at On With Life in Ankney, IA where I primarily supported persons with brain injury and other neurological conditions towards their goals and occupational performance. The 2B fieldwork experience I am currently completing is at Advance Physical Therapy in Qunicy, IL focusing on client populations experiencing hand and upper extremity conditions/diagnoses. The doctoral capstone I have prepared to complete in my final spring semester is at Habitat for Humanity in Des Monies, IA to increase advocacy, safety, and occupational justice for the older adult population who wish to age in place.
