Dr. Attia Youseif is a Senior Lecturer at Indiana University’s Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures, with over 27 years of teaching experience. He directs the Tutoring in Arabic Flagship Program and chairs both the Community College Special Interest Group in the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and the Research Committee in the Indiana Foreign Language Teachers Association (IFLTA).
Dr. Youseif earned his PhD in Linguistics from Alexandria University and a Diploma in Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers. His research interests include the integration of AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) in world language instruction, focusing on innovative curriculum development and teacher training. He explores modern pedagogical methods and the intricate relationship between language, culture, and identity.
A prolific scholar, Dr. Youseif has authored four books and seven articles and has presented more than 30 conferences. His leadership in integrating cutting-edge technologies into language instruction significantly advances the field, fostering global academic collaboration and enhancing language teaching methodologies.
