Jane E. Sullivan, PT, DHS, MS is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. She has a BS in Physical Therapy from Marquette University, an MS in Neurologic Physical Therapy from Northwestern University, and a DHS degree from the University of Indianapolis. Dr. Sullivan has practiced in acute care, acute rehabilitation, and home health focusing on the treatment of adults with neurological conditions in Illinois and Ohio - in private and county hospitals, and Veterans’ Administration settings. Her research in stroke, outcome measurement, and electrical stimulation has been funded by the NIH, industry, and the APTA. Dr. Sullivan has numerous textbook chapters, peer reviewed publications and presentations in these areas, Including several case reports and case series. She is the former Director of Education in the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy (ANPT) and is a co-author of StrokEDGE and A Clinical Practice Guideline on a Core Set of Outcome Measures for Adults with Neurologic Conditions Undergoing Rehabilitation. Dr. Sullivan was a member of the National Quality Forum Neurology Standing Committee, and has collaborated with the American Academy of Neurology, American Congress of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Measurement Networking and Rehabilitation Measures Database Task Forces. She is a former Associate Editor of PTNow, the APTA web portal and was a co-developer of the ANPT Synapse Education Center.
