Dr. Adamson is director of research for Women's Operational Military Exposure Network Center of Excellence (WOMEN CoE), clinical professor of Neurosurgery (Affiliated) at Stanford School of Medicine and senior scientist for Rehabilitation Services at VA Palo Alto. She completed her undergraduate degrees in neurobiology and women studies at the University of California, Irvine. She completed her Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Southern California and a postdoctoral fellowship in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford School of Medicine. Soof Solutions Inc. was developed during her Faculty Innovation Fellowship at Stanford Byers Biodesign Program (2021). She also completed her Masters in Healthcare Leadership at Brown University School of Professional Studies in 2022.
Dr. Adamson is a trained neuroscientist, neuromodulation, and neuroimaging expert, whose research interests span traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, and pain. She’s a leader in healthcare innovation, entrepreneurship, and translational neuroscience and has over 15 years of research and healthcare leadership experience with Stanford School of Medicine, Brown University, Department of Defense, and Veterans Health Administration. She serves as a scientific advisor to several companies and mentors high school students to MD and Ph.D. colleagues along with entrepreneurs in the neuroscience space, especially minority women.
