Lifestyle Interventions for Health and Wellness Promotion in People with Multiple Sclerosis 9562

The aim of this symposium is to present a scientific update of emerging evidence from meta-analyses (when available) and original research studies supporting the efficacy of physical activity, sleep enhancement, diet, and, and mental health regulation to improve MS-related symptoms, physical function, sleep, mood, and other health-related outcomes. We will discuss possible mechanisms underpinning the efficacy of each lifestyle intervention, application of findings to clinical practice, and possible future directions.

  • Define the current state of evidence on physical activity, diet, and sleep to promote health and wellness in people with multiple sclerosis
  • Discuss how current research on lifestyle intervention can guide clinical practice
  • Identify possible future directions in these lines of research
