Learning Objectives:

  • Learn pelvic floor anatomy, focused history taking, key physical exam findings, diagnostic tests, and assessments to diagnose pelvic floor disorders
  • Describe voiding dysfunction frequency, types, risk factors, and management among patients with cancer undergoing acute inpatient rehabilitation as well as the effects on functional recovery.
  • Increase awareness for conservative treatment of voiding dysfunction using 1) pelvic floor muscle training, 2) bladder loading, stretching, and training strategies, 3) other modalities
  • Be able to identify genital lymphedema in oncologic patients, its natural history, diagnosis, prevention/surveillance, and conservative management.
