Using objective data and creating rules in the electronic medical record, the UNC Hospitals acute inpatient rehabilitation center was able to increase the occupancy rate of the center as well as improve the quality of referrals to reduce the burden of work on the intake coordinators and assist in efficacy with the referral sources.
