Dr. Zitterkopf is a leader in the evaluation and treatment of pelvic floor physical therapy. Specializing in pediatric congenital conditions such as vesicoureteral reflux, anal-rectal malformations, cloaca’s and Hirschsprung’s. As well as constipation and nocturia in children (age 1-18 years). Her approached to physical therapy is to develop treatment plans that align with the patient’s goals and achieve them through play. From Dr. Zitterkopf’s clinical experience, she is able provide assessments and treatment techniques that will help patients heal and return to the activities that they enjoy.
She has served as the Memorial Hermann’s Pelvic Floor Program Manager since inception in 2013. Dr. Zitterkopf is certified in Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback through the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America. She is also a Certified Lymphedema Therapist through the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy.
Dr. Gail Zitterkopf, PT, DPT, CLT received her bachelor’s degree from The University of Arizona in Exercise, Sports & Nutrition and went on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Northern Arizona University. She is a graduate of the 2018 Integrative Health and Lifestyle cohort and the 2019 Integrative Health Coaching Certificate (iCoach) under the guidance of Andrew Weil, MD at the University of Arizona.
