Dr. Joy Williams, PT, DPT is an Assistant Professor at University of the Pacific's Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program and is a physical therapist specializing in neurologic rehabilitation. Additionally, she serves as faculty within Kaiser Permanente’s Rehabilitation Services Education residency program; her roles include clinical mentor and scholarly projects mentor. She earned a BS in Biochemistry (2012) and Doctor of Physical Therapy (2015) from Azusa Pacific University. Dr. Williams completed several post-graduate programs including the Kaiser Permanente Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) program, Shepherd Center Neurologic Physical Therapy residency, and Shepherd Center Clinical Research Fellowship in Multiple Sclerosis. As a board-certified neurologic clinical specialist (NCS), she has a particular passion for addressing neurodegenerative diseases within her practice. Dr. Williams’ research interests lie in rehabilitation for neurodegenerative diseases and strategies to integrate technology into student and clinician learning to enhance their learning experience.
