Health services researchers studying rehabilitation and disability can use a wide range of data sources, including large cohort studies of community-dwelling participants, administrative assessment data that measures patients’ function, and electronic health records that provide detailed information on patient care. Even the most skilled investigators can find it challenging to identify and select a suitable data source for their health services research due to the vast amounts of data available. In this 60-minute symposium, we will review three commonly used data sources for health services research in rehabilitation and disability.
