Health services research is a multidisciplinary field that plays a crucial role in demonstrating the value of rehabilitation services. The increased availability of large datasets for rehabilitation research, such as electronic health record data, administrative claims data, and national survey data, provides tremendous statistical power for applying sophisticated quantitative methods. However, confounding, attrition, and non-response are inherent limitations of these secondary data sources. This session will discuss various matching and weighting approaches with relevance for advancing rehabilitation health services research.
