Dr. Talya Fleming is the Medical Director of the Stroke Recovery Program, Post-COVID Rehabilitation Program & Aftercare Program at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute. She is an Associate Professor at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. With her advanced certification in Brain Injury Medicine, Dr. Fleming integrates the latest methods in stroke rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, neuroplasticity, and rehabilitation technology to help individuals maximize their functional recovery. Interested in the role of exercise and disability, she presents her clinical research nationally and internationally on the topics of stroke rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, post-acute transitions of care, and healthcare delivery. She has been integral in the creation, design, and implementation of the JFK Johnson Stroke Recovery Program and related Stroke-HEART Trials from their inception. Dr. Fleming has received multiple awards, received various grants, and published numerous manuscripts regarding her work in stroke rehabilitation and stroke recovery. Dr. Fleming has been a member of several national organizations regarding stroke and is currently a member of the member of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine Stroke Interdisciplinary Stroke Interest Group and the Neuroplasticity Networking Group.
