Dr. Holavanahalli, Project Officer/ Rehabilitation Specialist at NIDILRR, is a Medical Sociologist and a Gerontologist by training. Prior to joining NIDILRR, she was a Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Texas (UT) Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She has over 24 years of experience in longitudinal data analyses and burn rehabilitation outcomes research. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters. Dr. Holavanahalli served on the Aftercare Reintegration; Rehabilitation; and Elderly Care Committees of the American Burn Association during her tenure at UT Southwestern. She is currently the Co-Chair of the Subcommittee on Disability Statistics (Interagency Committee on Disability Research). Dr. Holavanahalli is an ex officio member of the National Advisory Council on Aging (NIH/NIA/NACA) and serves on the Muscular Dystrophy Coordinating Committee (NIH).
