Mark A. Hirsch, PhD, FACRM, FPRD was appointed Adjunct Professor Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 2022, following a strategic partnership between Advocate Health (Atrium Health), Wake Forest University (WFU) and Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSM) that recognizes the academic leadership of WFU & WFUSM as the academic core of Advocate Health, a healthcare system that spans 4 southeastern & 2 mid-western states & covers > 13 million patients. Hirsch is Senior Scientist at Carolinas Rehabilitation, Carolinas Medical Center/Atrium Health, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Director, Parkinson disease and Movement Disorders lab, Director Department of PM&R Resident Research Education Program at Carolinas Rehabilitation. He has been a member of ACRM since 2008 and is the Past Chair of the Neurodegenerative Diseases Networking Group, Chair ACRM Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, member of the ACRM Program Committee, and member of the ACRM Group Oversight Committee. His vision is to effect change for good in the field of rehabilitation. Hirsch co-developed the ACRM-level Women in Rehabilitation Science Award, the NDNG-level Women in Neurodegenerative Disease Rehabilitation Science Award, and the ACRM Annual Women in Rehabilitation Science Symposium
